Caring for Your Ceramic Tableware
How should I maintain my ceramic dinnerware?
Our ceramic dinnerware is designed for ease of use and is microwave & dishwasher safe. They are, however, not suitable for oven use. As high temperatures can cause thermal shock, leading to potential cracks.
While storing, stack plates and bowls lightly to prevent breakage from excess weight.
What is the best way to clean my ceramic plates and bowls?
To keep them shining, hand wash with mild detergent and warm water and avoid harsh scrubbers. If using a dishwasher, place items securely to prevent chipping.
For tough stains, soak them in warm water with baking soda for a few minutes before washing.

Who crafts your ceramics?
Designed by our founder, Garima Mittal, our ceramics are brought to life by skilled Indian artisans — generational potters who bring age-old wisdom to every wheel they spin. Trained to blend tradition with contemporary design, they shape each piece with hand, heart, and heritage.
We are not fast. We are not mass. We are proudly slow, small-batch, and story-led — so that
what you own feels personal, not produced.
How do handcrafted ceramics differ from mass-produced ones?
Our ceramics are uniquely handcrafted from start to end, each piece bearing distinct shapes, textures, and subtle variations unlike the mass-produced ceramics. Like a signature, no two items are identical, with natural contours and imperfections that celebrate artisanal craftsmanship and individual charm.
Contrary to the mass produced ceramics, we are a conscious brand using lead-free, toxin-free glazes to ensure food safety for your & your family’s well-being.
What’s the difference between ceramic and pottery?
Ceramics is a broader term that includes all objects made from clay and other non-metallic materials, hardened by heat.
Pottery, on the other hand, is a distinct subset of ceramics— referring to functional, clay-based vessels like bowls, cups, and pots, shaped by hand through techniques like wheel-throwing or coiling.
At Facets by Garima, we choose to call all our creations pottery to keep things simple and rooted in tradition.
What distinguishes stoneware, earthenware, and porcelain?
These three types of ceramics vary in firing temperature and durability:
- Earthenware: Fired at lower temperatures, it’s more porous and less robust but can be glazed for added durability. It’s rustic, budget-friendly, and often used for plant pots.
- Stoneware: Fired at higher temperatures with glass in the clay mix, it’s durable, chip-resistant, and has a sturdy, earthy appeal.
- Porcelain: Crafted from fine white clay and fired at the highest temperatures, it’s strong, non-porous, and often translucent due to its delicate build. Porcelain brings elegance to formal occasions and is the priciest option.

The finish on my dish doesn’t match the website image. Can I get a refund?
All items sold are non-exchangeable and non-refundable. Our luxury ceramic tableware are handmade from start to end. No two pieces are identical in shape, weight, balance, or finish, and it is this uniqueness that we celebrate here at Facets by Garima. These handmade inconsistencies do not affect the quality of our ceramics and flatware in any way, and each piece is made to last for years.
